I posted this issue back in December 2012, but it was archived, despite that nothing seems to have been done. It has been reported to LCI both directly and through seeclickfix.
I'm not sure the status of this house (it was for sale, not sure who owns it now), but parts of the roof have fallen off into the neighbors yard, and there is a lot of trash dumped in the back yard.
The 3rd floor residents moved out because of plumbing problems that they said leaked down into the unoccupied second floor, and the occupied first floor.
On seeclickfix, LCI said that they were at the property in December and assigned a case number for inspection, but no progress seems to have been made. The property continues to literally fall apart.

bergeron,
It was owned by Bill Bixby, who passed away in 2012. He lived on the 2nd floor. Since then the house has fallen into further disrepair. There are broken windows, pieces of siding falling off, pieces of the roof falling off, etc. Since he passed away the 2nd floor has been unoccupied, and the 3rd floor tenants moved out, as I said before, because of the plumbing problems that were not addressed by whomever now owns the property.

I'd rather not get into a discussion of a man who passed away, of whom I have nothing but very fond memories.
The point is that now, moving forward, something needs to be done. It's an absolutely gorgeous house. It's a perfect house for Neighborhood Housing Services to buy and rehab for a LMI family. It just needs a few hundred-thousand dollars in work!

Bergeron,
Neighborhood Housing Services is an incredible organization that does wonderful work. They screen their applicants quite carefully, purchase homes, invest hundreds of thousands of dollars in renovations, and sell them for less than they put into the homes. They are successfully helping to be a part of stabilizing these neighborhoods.
As for bringing up a deceased individual, you mentioned that "according to visionappraisal.com, there was an elderly man living there that passed away in 2012. The information above seems to be inaccurate." I was simply clarifying the information and indicating that it was, in fact, accurate.
I did not know the previous owner well, I do not know his family, and I do not know how to be in touch with them. If I did, I would certainly do so, as I have been in touch with the owner of other neglected properties.
I know very little about LCI. But what I do know, Bergeron, is that your attitude is neither helpful nor constructive. Let's use the tools at our disposal to improve our neighborhoods, not disparage and lament.

Bergeron,
Believe what you will. It's really no bother to me. I'm doing everything I can to make the neighborhood better. Any problem I've ever had, NHS has been EXTREMELY responsive. I've seen them do nothing but good work in all my years here. I'm really not interested in your unsubstantiated allegations and innuendo, nor in continuing this dialogue. Good day.

Hey SCFers,
I want to chime in here and make sure this discussion stays relevant. Some comments in this thread have, in fact, been moderated by a SCF administrator. While there is no "silver bullet" as far as what content is deemed appropriate for the site, a general rule of best practice is to ask yourself: "Does this comment contribute positively to the resolution of this *specific* issue?"
I'm happy to go into more detail about best practices for commenting and reporting if anyone has questions, and let's remember that we're all here to try to positively improve our neighborhoods. Even though we disagree on how to do that sometimes, let's be respectful whenever possible.
Regards,
BWC

Pieces of the roof continue to fall off, this time barely missing the car in the driveway next door. The piece is maybe 12-15 feet long.
I'm not sure if the property has been sold, is bank owned, or is still owned by the family. In any case, they need to do some upkeep on the house QUICKLY before more pieces fall off and hurt someone.
